The following occurred in third or fourth grade. Nothing after that for sure!! We had “modarisat deen” (yes I had female teachers:s) and she was teaching us how to pray. We used to go to the mosque a lot as well. 9ali7 and me were the guys that are imams. Its him one day and me the next. The only problem was; I do not know how to pray!! I was faking it!! Waiting few minutes and “allah akbar” and going down again!! Few days later we had an exam on how to pray and netwatha!! I knew we had one but I still do not know why I did not study!! I was the first person to be called and asked in front of the class to demonstrate the procedure!! I stood still not knowing what to do!! The teacher was in absolute shock and mad!! I gave her a small smile, a worried one though. And just looked straight ahead:D
While studying medicine, I found a new interest or hobby. Its very different than what I am studying. Its the stock market! I follow it, almost daily. Unless I am busy with exams. When I was in kuwait 2 years ago, I enrolled in a summer course about stocks and how to deal with them. I would not say I am an expert, I am not even half an expert . I still follow it though, and give my own predictions to my younger brother, who is actually loving the stock market and the selling and buying process. Anyway, few years back, before the stock market crashed, the market was losing a lot of points each day. I called my brother and told him to sell everything, especially that you have enough profit. He told me that I am going mad, but he said I will go ask our uncle and see what is his say on the matter. My uncle’s name is also Hasan.B, and he is really good with stocks. He asked him and my uncle laughed his arse off! And told him: Go tell Hasan to focus on his medical studies and leave this thing for the experts!! Few days later, the stock market crashed! And almost no one had the chance to sell! It crashed to the extreme that I was not even happy that my predictions were right. I went back in the summer to kuwait. My father told me he saw my uncle, my mother’s brother, in Al-3aza, and my uncle asked him how did I know that the market is going to crash? Does he have influential people giving him hot information or anything from that sort? My father told him; no, nothing like that. He just predicted it and it happened. And you know what? My father was right! It was only “ضربة حظ“.
In the summer of 2000, we were in london as usual. My two cousins and myself were at pizza express having dinner. The one just behind selfridges. 3esa (not the one that just got engaged) is 4 years older than me, and m7amed is 3 years younger than me. 3esa and m7amed were having a stupid debate. 3esa was saying that no one can drink 2L of milk in one try without vomiting. M7amed was not accepting it. So we decided to go and get some milk and I wanted an international card. It was around 11:30pm. We finished buying everything and were walking back to our apartment when suddenly three people approached us. One of them was pushing me backwards and faja’a a punch stroked my face! Yes I saw some circulating birds. Anyway, I realized its time for self defence! I fought back, the guy was asking for my money and my mobile. Although I did not have much in my pocket, I told myself that there is no way I am giving him anything! 3esa was also fighting, he was fighting two men!! Few minutes later, they ran away. They never stole anything from me and 3esa. We looked left and right? There was no sing of m7amed! We got a bit worried. His parents are not here, and he is amana 3ndena. We called his number and they answered. We asked where is our cousin, they said; He is F***** disabled!! We stood there for a while not knowing what to do, until we got a call from my sister telling us to come back QUICKLY! She was worried. We realized that m7amed, our overweight cousin, who does not like walking at ALL, has took off his sandals and ran like there was no tomorrow!! We later knew that he gave them the phone by mutual consent just before running:D! When our family knew about it later (our faces had many signs) they said that: El-rayal el wa7ed fekom is 7amood!!!
Today, 5 of the kuwaites in final med have graduated. One of them is a very dear friend of mine. He was my room mate in the first year, and became my neighbour after that year and until now. A true friend that is always there when you need him. Wether to explain something or just support. I still remember the old days, both the good and the bad ones. I remember when I went to kuwait for only a week to try and save my marriage but could not, and ended up coming back in less than 8 days. He showed some great amount of support. Also, one of the worst memories was in second med when his father passed away. He had an exam the following day, and his family did not inform him. I read his father’s name in the newspaper and could not function for a while. The kuwaities gathered, and some of them insisted that we tell him, but I had the last vote and the superior one and decided not to. He appreciated that later when he knew about it. And there was the good days. Traveling with the guy, the stupid mistakes, the laughs and practicing our medical examinations! I wish him all the best, he deserves it.
Just got back from the movie; Iron man. Have one word for it; Welak!!!
FINISHED!! And it was not bad!! I have two more exams now, the first one is on ENT. And the second one is clinical psych (just had the written) But the worst part is over!
The exam was not that hard. The questions were fair, so now I am wondering; does blogging bring me good luck? People ethaher prayed for me, and because I do not believe in “il7sad”, then thats the only explanation I have!!
I am going to the cinema in two hours! Its been a long time!!
I got this comment from Zabo0o6a and decided to post about it so that more people can know about it, especially those interested. Plus the fact that I will be getting endless amounts of free chocolates for life! The latter is obviously a joke;). Here is the good news;
UPDATE:
since my brother in law is the owner of kakaw london , this kind of kitkat is available at “almohalab” hey setted a small booth to sell all kind of new chocolate which is not available in kuwait as well as he has a small shop called ” ma67anat heathrow” at 7awalii ;)
I just finished my opthalmology exam. Was very good il7mdela. The examiner kept asking me to look at people’s eyes. Not in the mood to write the details, but anyway it was a clinical/oral type of exam and took less than three minutes.
I am going to rest on the couch (yes I removed the papers!) for an hour or so. A good power nap. And then start studying psych. There should be more than 24 hours in a day! At least occasionally!!
I am not a big fan of kitkat. However, my father is. I still remember, when we used to buy some, he would hide it and eat it alone or share it with my mother occasionally! Anyway, this new kitkat just gained a new fan! Its different than the other boring ones. More like mars delight, but better. Anyway, could not find a picture, so I got this one by my mobile. I hope no one from the family asks me to bring some back to kuwait, anyway they never did.
UPDATE: I just posted this picture, and my cousin H.B junior JUST messaged me and said: I want the kitkat!!
I passed the paediatrics exam!! Although I always believed that my answers were good, I had this feeling that I failed!! BUT I PASSED!! I have not been called for the orals!! The names were just out, and my name is not among them!! Okay now I am looking for a second class honours, well actually 6aaf, as long as I passed! I am few steps closer to final med! But should not get too excited! Have an oral exam on opthalmology (eyes) tomorrow, and pysch the day after that!
And a note on todays mcq. It was not that bad. I got many question right. But I just could NOT stop going for it!! Even if I did not know the answer, if it looked sensible I went for it!! It was funny, every time my hand goes and answers something that my brain feels its more safe to leave it blank, my head shakes slowly!! Its like my head is cussing my hands!! The even more funnier thing, is that I thought of posting about this while I was answering! Anyway hope the negative marking wont have an effect, at least NOT a big one!
