- The results were very disappointing. It is very weird how people think. There are many examples on how stupid some people are. Many voted for al-qalaf for example just because “em3amam”. People forget how vulgar and stupid he is. A person who wants to become a parlement member must be calm even when teased. This guy said to his fellow member: “Ala yel3ank yal7aywan” in the parlement. He also went on TV. and “kafar” wa7d just because he disagreed with him, just few weeks ago.
- Other people voted for 3dnan and lary “e3naad”?! How can someone change all his/her principals, and everything he/she believes in and vote e3nad!? How childish is that?!
- And women?! Ah yal women. Its okay for a women not to vote for another women. Quality is not based upon gender. But to go and vote for people who do not even believe that you have the right to vote or even be in that parlement?! How weird and pathetic is that?!?! Mohamed lem6iar voted AGAINST women’s right. What? Are you telling me you do not believe you have a right to be a parlement member?! If that is not stupid then what is? Khaled Al-sul6an (even when outside the parlement) and waled, were against noureya just because she is a women!? Can you imagine some one voting (ye6ra7 il theqa) against you. saying your not qualified, your shahada should never bee taken again, ruining your career just because your a women and nothing else?! A very funny fact is that many women and men live in a way that is truly DIFFERENT than what these people think and want. They listen to music, live a relatively free life, and believe in women’s rights. It appears to me that these people, only when losing their freedom, will change their voting habits. Very sad
- I have to meet the head of the kuwaiti cultural office tomorrow and finish some paper work. So I have to take the train. Its a three hour ride! At least my friend is coming along. I never studied in a car, bus or cafe?! Maybe I will tomorrow, cause I was lazy this week!
i totally hated the outcome!
algalaf GOD! i hate that man!
9ij i dont know how people thingk. thay want things to be different, and yet they vote for the same idiots again!
ya3ni if its the same stupid brains how on earth will change come about.
i was very sad that aseel el3awathi didnt make it!
oooh i LOVE train rides.
yes it’s very disappointing, people will never change
Ib9ara7a i haven’t been monitoring the elections and candidates fa i know nothing about them and i can’t judge, bs if wat ur saying is true.. that is extremely sad.
I was really disappointed that no woman won tho. And the fact that many women did not even bother to vote, altho women in q8 are more than men which means their votes can really make a difference. Ya3ni in the end, nothing changed. Our parliament is exactly the same as it always was.
Wat a shame.
As the Egyptians say: Tiiiti tiiti, zayi ma roo7ti zayi ma gitee.
for your first point…I agree with you totally…I think people who voted for him because he is em3amam are “6a2feyeeen”
for the second point..I was so disappointed to now that lari and 3abd al9amad have one….I though people would know who they are more close too…
its bad to see that people vote for their own sect without taking in consideration who the are voting for…there are many she3a candidates who deserve to be in the parliament because they are with Kuwait not outsider groups
Am glad that you (as a she3i) pointed out these points…
As for women…its not easy to get into the parliament from the first few times after they got their rights..people still need some time to understand….however..Aseel el3awathi really surprised me (although am against alta7alof)….a very very good number she got….and it showed that men should be aware that women are strong….
and good luck with your studies :)
opps I mean
“for the second point..I was so disappointed to now that lari and 3abd al9amad have WON”
All what u said is 100% true.
They are blind and stupid.
And i was reading back and the picture of Scrooge McDuck cracked me up….hehehehee memories….
so true..
I know a woman who voted:
one vote 3ashan her husband
one vote 3ashan her father
one vote 3ashan her uncle’s wife
one vote to vote for a woman
it is sad
OH MY GOD THE RESULTS WERE ULTRA-DISSAPOINTING!!!
Yeah I heard about Qalaf, it’s not good for him as with his 3mmamma to use that sort of speech..
I agree on the women thing, I don’t GET those women! I mean they scream for their rights and when the time comes, they DON’T vote?!!! Malat 3laihom!
and it BUGS me when woman vote because of husband, brother father blah blah blah…
O bas, I told you, el Siyasa mo shay!
I agree with you! Mafi awareness campaigns lel asaf and people still look for masale7hom eshakhsiya and family relations instead of focusing on the good of the country!
You forgot el 6abtab?!! looooool
ShoSho: From now on You have to stop talking about politics! Bala who is the guy that I talked about and his name is waleed? Does he ring a bell?!
Wala ili gelta 9aaaaaaa7 malaaaaaaaat 3ala il naas ili ma yeftahmoon!!!!!! 7adhum qahreeni !!!
PPL are SOO stupid they vote for ppl cuz they are “religion” or watever o0 uhmaaaa ga9eeeeen 3al 3alaaam!!
and for us women, ili 9awetaw 7ag the men that were against us in the first place .. agoolihum MALAT o0 i’d give them the Trophy of stupidity!
Loooooooooooooooooool yeah now it does.. sorry my lips are sealed now! No more siyasa for me!
El7een when I became a bit interested, you tell me not to talk? Poor ShoSho.. lol
i agree with the shockingly dissapointing results!
i really had faith in the new dawa2ir system ..
many hopes were crushed with the results .. coz were back to square one now ..
one of the ppl i was shocked with their results was 3ashoor!! since when does he get to be no.1 :S
and how come he and anwar on the same ta7alof .. and at the same time had this huge gap in votes! that went over 7 thousand votes! something fishy must have happened there!
and i think kuwaits parliment elections is not that different from the KUNIV elections .. alta7alof always won by the etlaf for over 25 years now .. which is islamists ( salaf - u5wan ) the funny part was and this always made me laugh .. to see girls working for the etlafiya with no hijab on their heads .. with a very free out there life style?! i really dont know how would both blend together?
and women voting for the names u mentioned is beyond my understanding and logic .. i will never know how they think?! let alone the hypocrasy of those men .. trying to adopt womens problems now after they have made it clear they wanted nothing to do with them before women had their rights!
its all just too messed up.
no3ik - i agree with uuuu!! i said the same thing the other day when they told me to vote for some candidates. I told them that when it was time to vote against womens rights they thought that women didn’t deserve any political rights bas now shafaw ena we can make a difference they want out votes .. ikhasoon i7a9loon my vote. ALthough one vote wont make a difference, I hope other women out there realize the mistakes they are making!!!
Da2eratna is the most disappointing, I think.
I don’t agree with you.
I don’t think its ok to say people are stupid.
We are ashamed to say “you’re stupid” to a single person in his face, but when it comes to a whole country of people, it becomes OK? what? is it because the blame is spread on so many people? in my book its a compounded insult.
There tons and tons of us and ordinary people (including many women in my family) who do NOT think its ok for a woman to hold high public office. how high an office? that’s a debatable issue. But what’s 3aib is to categorically label all of them as stupid.
We have our point of view. we think its a sound point of view. And believe me we have REALLY high IQ scores in my family.
We also find it very insulting to be called stupid.
And no you don’t have to apologize, I’m not angry, I just think we should lower our volumes a bit and discuss things based on the underlying issues.
Most of my family are fairly happy with the outcome, so atleast some of us are happy.
actually, let me correct myself:
not “some” of us are happy, but “a lot” of us are happy with the results.
nothing to say :( unhappy for the result ..
Falatan: People who believe that women should not be in parliament just because she is a women are stupid. This is my point view. Stupidity has no boundaries
no offense falantan…. but I don’t think that being someone with a HIGH IQ makes you in any way intelligent… not that I am saying you are not intelligent…. but I am saying its not always the case… hasn’t it been proven a lot of times that people who are academically smart are social idiots……
I’m not saying that any of your family members are social idiots… I have to agree with 7san because it doesn’t make sense that people in Kuwait run around and screaming that our country is going backwards in sooo many issues and then the results of the majles show a lot of people who support issues met5alfa… it just seems stupid and a waste of time…
See Im not into politics and I don’t a lot about it… but if you look at the pictures of the people who won the elections… it looks like the FBI’s most wanted list… :D
ammm one word hassan ” Democracy ”
am il qelaf to be fair i know nothing aboyr him but if he is what u say then the blaim falls in hand of the voters but whos to be judged they have an answer to u “democracy ”
3adnan and lary ” they proved there point that they can step on the fillings of a contry with its ppl and ppl would still vote 4 them but maybe MAYBE if somthing this huge happens again ppl will have a better reaction if not what can we say other than “democracy ”
4 the women u cant blaim them 4 the vote they chose not just becuz of the principle of democracy but also becuz there weren’t much option to whom women should we vote 4 … ana m7amad lim6air DUDE THATS A SHOUK he manegd to climb over il9ager and ilrashed i mean common WHAT THE HELL ! and still “democracy ”
amm u should study ive been a way 4 a while trying to do that saddly i didnt if u found a way to do just inform me of it to Imitate ur way:P
Actually 7asan, please take my comment off, I don’t know the guy personally to be saying this. He is entitled to his opinions..
i blame everyone: everyone who votes based on their religion, everyone who votes based on their family and friends, everyone who votes based on their own personal gain..u screwed us over once again i humbly thank u
People vote based on their own identity. No sense in fighting that. and we’re not ALL vanilla flavored kuwaiti 7aaf. it is a fact of reality that some of us identify as sinna some of us identify as shee3a, some of us identify as tribesmen. its their inalienable right to do that. mino i7na to tell them otherwise??
people who are shee3a feel their sect is being marginalized, so they cling to the few strong shee3i figures that are available. who can blame them really? to them being a shee3i is more important than being a kuwaiti, its their absolute right to feel that way. democracy means inna KAIFHOM. ya a5i they need someone who’ll fight for their minority feelings.
and the same goes for bado. they feel marginalized and they feel that their tribesman will serve their interests more than a wealthy blue-blood who’s main concern is kuwait’s football golden age. can you blame them? I certainly don’t. especially when the far3iyaat law is passed solely for the purpose of lessening the strength of the bado members belmajles. and I still think the far3iyat banning is not constitutional and oppresses people.
And as for why some of us think women shouldn’t hold high public office, the reason is that we hope to be religious people, and that entails that we obey Allah o rasoolah PBUH, and seeing that the following 7adeeth exists:
… and notice the “lan yufli7″ which is for the future ba3ad. ya3ne no space for saying “this 7adeeth only concerns their time.”, that kind of argument can blow away the whole religion, therefor I reject it completely.
So if you think that ANYone who thinks that a woman should not gain high public office is stupid, you should be careful coz that can include irrasool himself, and I’m sure that you don’t mean that.
falantan: You believe it does include ilrasol, I do not
wilayat al amir is in being the president .. or ameer..
not in simply being a member?!
it is not the same .. since her word wont be the last in the parliment .. same case with the men ..
they will only cast a vote .. no decision is final here..
there for it is not wilayat amur ..
but it has been said before .. that ppl efasron al 7adeeth 3la kaifhum ..
this could go both ways ofcourse ..
but if u open the arabic mo3gab look for the definition WILAYA … u will seee that it does not mean being a member in a parliment.
no3ik:
I think the term “wilayat amr” literally means the person who has the authority to make the decision concerning other people. A kid in school, “wali amra” is his parent. A woman to be married, “wali amrha” is her dad. A married woman “wali amerha” is her husband” and so on wella ana ghal6an til now? And true a member in parliament only votes, but his/her vote will affect the final decision. So it like a % of ilwelaya, correct? and lets say we happen to elect >50% of parliament to be women, is that ok then? or do you think that women should not exceed a certain % in parliament?
Parliament members do have and do make decisions concerning other citizens. Even if they do it as a vote, that vote is part of the complete picture to come out with the decision. and that in my book is wilaya. therefor I don’t think its ok to elect women. Am I still stupid? or do you see my point atleast?
Even if you think wilaya only refers to “executive power” ya3ne il7okooma and ilwezaraat, then this means its not ok to have women ministers sa7?
O ba3dain all people efasroon il’a7adeeth 3ala kaifhom, you included. You want to make ilwilaya’s definition sooo narrow that it will apply to nothing. And if you think it only applies to the ameer, do you actually say that you would NOT vote for a woman president?
7san:
you said: “People who believe that women should not be in parliament just because she is a women are stupid”
so I repeat my points to no3ik to you, what do you consider to be “wilayat amer”? or more specifically, you tell me what does 7adeeth irrasool PBUH mean? ya3ne if women are so equal to men in terms of leadership and heading states, why would irrasool say that about bint kisra?
Can anyone correct my definition of the term “wilayat il’amer”?
I agree with falantan eb ba3′6 el ashya2 ,, y3nii if i was 21 i would definitely vote for lari ;p mo shar6 a9awetla 3shan ana 3un9ureya,, aw li2anah ohwa shee3ii !! yemken yemken cuz he’s a good guy !!! y3nii mala da3ii tgooli stupid just because i think he’s a good guy ;p
Hamitaf: I was being a little sarcastic about the IQ scores. but I said it to make the point that its not right to easily call people stupid or brain-washed simply because we don’t understand them. The better way would be to try to talk to them and understand why they think that way. they may prove to have valid points which you haven’t thought about. it requires alot of empathy. And summarily calling people stupid shows a severe lack of empathy towards others. its very insulting when someone doesn’t understand me, quickly comes to the conclusion that I must be dumb. Ya jema3a ahal ilKuwait voted. you’re saying ahal ilKuwait are generally dumb, o taboonna nasket? try to understand the motives instead of this intellectual laziness.
Zuzu: Good people do good things. Not things that harm our unity.
Falantan: You did not get my answer. My answer is simple: El7adeeth mawthou3
7san:
and what do you base your verdict of the 7adeeth? mino gal inna mawthoo3?
I invite you to get a full background check on all men mentioned in the chain. if you’re really serious about it. mo I go through all the research o ba3dain you simply dismiss me because you don’t like the 7adeeth. deal?
falantan: Nope. I have my sources and you have yours. For example; you believe that the whole content of 9a7e7 Al-bukhari is correct I do not. And I have my evidence and you have yours. This is a never ending argument. We can debate on so many aspects related to a7adeth mawtho3a. And to clarify one more thing, I did not dismiss el7adeeth because I did not like it. Obviously I did not but thats not the reason
7san:
fine I just want to know your source so I can go check it out.
Stop deleting posts damn it.. dare I say give up and let life take its natural course! on the other hand life just keeps on moving and you can get on board or get left behind..
Kel hatha 3shan he made a mistake?? give him a break y3nii ana mo ra’6ya belli sawah bs its a mistake mo lazm tmskoonha 3laih le youm el8eyamaa !! allah fogah y7asbah ;/ mo hatha mw’6oo3na ,, mw’6oo3na ena malah da3i tgool 7ag kel eli 9awetaw 7ag who ever they want a’3beya .. kaifhom :)
Zuzu: Not all mistakes are the same. Furthermore, he never apologized for his mistake. I am not sure he believes he made a mistake. Elghaba`a is 9efa. I did not say aghbeya meni wel6erej, I gave my reasons.
FourMe
